Sacred Defenders of the Universe: The Story

Living in harmony with Earth remains humanity’s greatest challenge. Before colonization, all living beings lived in balance by showing respect and honour for each other's existence through ceremony and traditions.

Today, that balance has been altered due to the internal struggle of all human beings; the conflict of humility and ego. This is known to some Indigenous communities as The Great Conflict of the Thunderbird and Horned Serpent.

Sacred Defenders of the Universe tells the story of how The Great Conflict gave birth to 4 superheroes, known as the Four Sacred Elements: Water (Aqueous), Fire (Embers), Earth (Terra) and Wind (Aireus). These sacred defenders rediscover their universal gifts of elemental energy which are found inside all human beings – gifts passed down through the ancient ancestral teachings.

Will humanity learn to restore balance between humility and ego before the consequences of indifference on Earth are irreversible? This story is a reminder to look deep within ourselves to rediscover our own unique gifts, because there is a hero inside of us all.

Inclusivity

Our storytelling does not incite violence and wars like the typical Hollywood fanfare. As a fan of the Superhero Universe concept, we create a different genre of Indigenous superhero, that explores the surreal and subconsciousness of the non-fictional human mind.

Our original Indigenous superhero series teaches the audience about overcoming the limiting beliefs of human nature through exploring the connection between the natural laws of the Universe and our planet. We share the introspective quest to define humankind.

Our stories, created in close partnerships with Indigenous people across Turtle Island, aims to depict the true-to-life conflict between human ego and humility, as viewed through the lens of the human perspective. None of our characters represent any one person, culture or Nation.

We do not model our franchise after Hollywood narratives, false pretences, or subjective stereotypes, but our productions and stories are holistically guided by the virtues of our ancestors, our elders, and all of our relations. Sometimes, we may use subtle cultural  humour to express our appreciation, or to help cope with the hard times and traumas of our past and present.

Our intention is to create meaningful storytelling that inspires, unifies and encourages our viewer to find peace and love in their own personal journey we call life.

Sincerely,

The Jack Bear Legacy Pictures Team
